The Cincinnati MacDowell Society presented the Cincinnati MacDowell Medal to Victoria Morgan at a dinner meeting on Saturday, June 3rd at the Queen City Club in downtown Cincinnati. Morgan, the internationally renown Cincinnati Ballet Artistic Director, is a MacDowell member. Dr. Janet McDaniel was named president.

John A. Ruthven, internationally renowned wildlife artist, discussed "The Art of Life" at a meeting of the Cincinnati MacDowell Society, Sunday afternoon, March 4th, in the Guild Hall of the Indian Hill church. Mr. Ruthven is often called the "20th Century Audubon" and uses the same techniques as his predecessor. In 2004, he received the National Medal of Arts in recognition of his contributions as an artist and naturalist in conserving our national treasures. Mr. Ruthven has been a member of the MacDowell Society for over 35 years.

MacDowell makes a place in the world for artists, because art makes the world a better place.
The Cincinnati MacDowell Society launched it's 2018- 2019 season with a presentation by Alice Flanders, Managing Director of the Know Theatre, called "Your Theatrical Playground". The program was given on Sunday, September 30th where artists and audiences come together to produce and experience work that is not done anywhere else. MacDowell member Barbara Kellar was recognized for having won a regional Emmy for her CET program "Showcase with Barbara Kellar".

Sculptor John Leon welcomed members of the Cincinnati MacDowell Society to his Sharonville studio. He discussed the aesthetics of sculpture and it's evolution since the late 1800's and he presented some of his own works in progress. The body of Leon's work includes more than 500 bronzes as well as wood and stone carvings and is held in private, public and corporate collections that span five continents.
